Mark my words!

Thanks to Captain Hook, this is something I get told, accompanied by a finger point in the face, daily by Baby B.

‘Mark my words’– I mean seriously, the child isn’t even 3 yet and I am getting a proper telling off. The best part is that he uses it in the correct context and chooses wisely when to pull it out of the bag. Normally when I have asked him do something he doesn’t want to do.

Baby B doesn’t struggle on the vocab front. In fact, he is taking after his father in becoming quite the chatterbox. Some of the things he comes out with literally have me crying with laughter, however, others demonstrate that he is already becoming a rather stubborn little man. I think we are going to have our work cut out with this one!

Other phrases that he currently uses to warn me off are;

‘You leave me alone’

‘Not right now Mumma, I will do that later’

‘No, you don’t do that’ (I get that a lot!)

‘I am going to work’ (said with nursery bag hooked on arm like a handbag as he walks out of the room)

He is also extremely helpful, with sentences like;

‘You need scissors to get the tag off Mumma’ (normally after 5 minutes of watching me trying to bite the plastic bit off)

‘I’d like warm milk this morning Mumma, then a cold one’ (As I prepare his morning cup of milk and my tea)

And finally when I have done something he deems to be ‘good’, he will often say,

‘I tip my hat to you, from one legend to another’. (This I am informed is from the film Rango.)

Frankly I don’t care where it is from, it is rather nice to be called a legend.

And finally, in a display of defiance the other day whilst getting a telling off from Daddy on the naughty step, B put his finger to his lips, squinted his eyes a bit and ‘Sssshhhhed’ his father.

I challenge anyone not to chuckle at that.

Got to love toddlers and their bloody strong mindedness.

    Haha!! I really laughed out loud; this is so cute and funny! “Mark my words” is so cute! But my oh my…”I tip my hat to you, from one legend to another”- now that’s my number one fav! He is so bright! I think I would feel rather good if my child said they tip their hat to me and called me a legend. I’d definitely have a pep in my step after that!
    He’s so cute! xo

    Brilliant! I particularly loved the last one! I couldn’t believe it when my daughter called me ‘baggy breeches’ when she was 2 years old! Thank you for linking to PoCoLo x

    Brilliant, bless them…I dared to tell M off the other day, he was stood at the top of the stairs looking down at me, waited until I’d said my piece and then simply said “rude” and flounced off to bed! Xx
