Morning Nutribullet

It’s been four months since I got a NutriBullet. It was a popular Christmas gift for many and for me, one which so far has stood the test of time. Well, four months. I have had a ‘shake’ every morning since New Year (holiday and hangover days aside, I don’t really want to be one of those people who travels with it!) and genuinely look forward to it.

Those that follow Up All Hours on Istagram, may well have seen some of my concoctions not all of which have been a success I might add, but one thing I do know is, I am feeling bloody good for them.

Who knew that blending your breakfast could be soo much fun! It makes sense to me to replace the meal that I often have in a rush, therefore it is often the least nutritious meal of the day. A slice of toast is out of the window and now I am drinking more spinach than I have previously eaten in my 32 years on the planet!

Recently, I have increased my training and so have now begun to add to Protein powder to the morning shakes. This ensures that I am fuller for longer and helps with muscle recovery. I can genuinely have a shake at 7am and not be hungry again until 1pm. Although it helps if I am busy. If I am working from home in the kitchen I will inevitably end up snacking on fruit or nuts. Not because I am hungry but because I am greedy!

I wanted to share a couple of the successful drinks that I have made so far in my morning Nutribullet. Some have been blooming awful. Looked great, tasted dreadful.

Once you get your head round the fact that most the juices are green, it is all rather exciting. I really enjoy the anticipation of how it is going to taste.

Is that a bit sad? It sounds sad!

So here are my current fav enjoyable drinks:

1) Light Breakfast

Handful Spinach, 1 Banana, as many as you like Blueberries, Unsweetened Almond Milk, Chia Seeds and Supergreen Powder

2) Filling Breakfast and Great post workout drink.

Handful of Spinach, 1 Banana, Rolled Oats, 1 Apple, 1 small tsp Coconut Oil and 1 small tsp Almond Butter. For the liquid, you can use Almond Milk, Coconut Milk or water.

3) Protein Shake

I am currently using Purition Protein powder and love it. The Macadamia and Vanilla is my favourite. I keep it simple with the powder and have Spinach, 1 Banana, fat free Greek Yoghurt and unsweetned Almond Milk.
