OMG I am feeling old!

OMG as they say. By they, I mean young, cool people who use it. I typed it into a text message yesterday, to describe to a friend that Baby B had blown off at nursery whilst they were all having their dinner (!) and found it hysterical, then quickly delated it deciding that I am far too over the hill to use abbreviations like that.

LOL is another one. I am yet to fully appreciate what that means. I once put it at the end of a rather serious message to my friend discussing her recent breakup. She very quickly shot back, “why are you laughing?!”

I thought it meant ‘Lots of love’, but apparently not.

Basically, I am having one of those weeks of feeling a bit old. The hair dye is starting to fade revealing those short annoying grey hairs. The hard to get rid of ones. I end up pulling out 10 perfectly good, and much needed, brown hairs in the process of trying to get to one grey hair.

Twice this week, I have gone in out in very questionable outfits, designed ONLY for comfort, NOT for style. Not sure it is socially acceptable to be seen in clothes designed for those recovering from surgery behind closed doors!

When I did decide to attempt a more trendy fitted look, it did not go unnoticed by Baby B. He looked me up and down before saying “Cool Mumma, like a zebra”.

On trend or animal like?

On trend or animal like?

Oh good. Just the look I was hoping to achieve. On a more proud note, I didn’t know he knew about Zebras and granted he had a point.

Anyway, I am feeling much better today. I bought some eyelash curlers which scare the living daylights out of me but I thought that as a young, trendy women I should own a pair. I nearly bought some fake eyelashes but decided one step at a time, eh?

After a morning of very exciting meetings for the new Up All Hours website, I feel invigorated and ready to go. Might treat myself to a Smirnoff Ice to celebrate…do young people still drink those?!

This one really made me laugh Sam! It takes me hours to shop these days as I have to ask myself ‘is this outfit nice or is it a bit Hilary Clinton’ I can no longer trust my own judgement!!

You look fab though, skinny minny and not a whiff of middle aged politician about you xx

Very funny post, I’m so with you although I think I’m probably older! Eyelash curlers are indeed dangerous, they’ve had my eyes before so be careful there. Hilarious comment about the zebra, lovely top though 🙂

The eyelash curlers are still in the packet. I am bad enough with trying to apply mascara, not sure what I was thinking with the curlers! Thanks for the heads up and thank you for commenting. x
