Up All Hours, the website, coming soon!

We are so close. The countdown has, quite literally, begun. We survived a rather enjoyable Up All Hours press launch (photos to follow), which took place on the 20 May 2014, and are now watching the timer on the website counting down to the go ‘live’ time of 9am on 23rd May 2014.

This is nail biting stuff! (Ok, well maybe not for you, but it is for us!)

Up All Hours Countdown

Up All Hours is a labour of love, my baby and something I hope to work on for years & years to come. It is about building a new 24hrs parenting platform, one for everyone. It is not about trying to rival the other rather brilliant parenting websites, but compliment them.

The whole lack of sleep deal that accompanies parenthood has always been a key area for me. As someone who, pre-children, really loved a kip, I still reminisce with a longing smile on my face about those Saturday mornings, lying in bed until 10am. You remember those? When you literally had nothing to get up for except popping the kettle on to enjoy a pipping hot cuppa? With children, even if you have a quiet weekend planned, the average Saturday begins at 6am and the tea is no longer pipping hot. It’s more luke warm and over stewed.

Ahhh, those were the days…Sorry, I digress.

Up All Hours came about through my personal parenting journey. The idea arrived in my head on another cold dark morning, whilst sat on the sofa with a then Baby B watching Peppa Pig.

I was lonely. Lonely despite the fact I had a wonderful, supportive husband. Lonely despite the fact I had a wonderful, loving, doting family around me daily.

It was the strangest feeling. Pregnancy emotions, mixed in with the general lack of sleep and the constant learning curve, is one hell of a ride. Sharing that ride with others is not only helpful but extremely reassuring, comforting and encouraging. Seeing the funny side of the everyday chores associated with raising children is, I think, crucial. The day you become a parent is the day your life changes forever, for better for worst. It is a whole new exciting ball game.

Up All Hours is a way of showing parents that they are not alone. Whether it is your first kid or your fourth kid. Young or old, male or female, you can bet your life on the fact there is someone feeling exactly the same way you are, at exactly the same time.

The idea has evolved so much over the last 18 months and continues to daily. We have so many exciting plans, it keeps me awake at night (another reason I am always tired!), but for now we just want to launch. To get Up All Hours out there, and to get your thoughts, input and opinions and ultimately, hopefully, support parents. It all helps, right?

Because lets face it: ‘It’s good to know you’re not alone’.

Please support the website over the coming weeks, months – hell, years. We still have a long way to go, it is far from a polished website but it will be exciting. We promise!

You can pre-subscribe to Up All Hours now over on the website www.upallhours.com to be reminded when we go live and hopefully sign up as a founding member of Up All Hours.
