The start of a Super Green Cleanse

I’ll be honest – I am not 100% sure why I have taken it upon myself to do this, but tomorrow we are beginning a five day intense Super Green Cleanse. I say we, as obviously I have roped my husband into doing it with me to help ward off any temptation.

It may only be five days, but it is hardcore. The cleanse involves drinking five Super Green juices a day. The only added extras are lots of water and lots of sleep. Sadly, the cleanse people can’t do anything to guarantee the sleep, otherwise this programme would be like gold dust.

The Super Green Cleanse has been specially created to enable you to detox and cleanse the entire body of toxins and lose up to 7lbs over the 5 days. They promise that you’ll “kickstart your weight loss goals whilst feeling energised and refreshed”. If I am brutally honest, it isn’t really about the weight-loss for me. I understand the basics – if you don’t eat you lose weight – so I would expect to lose a few pounds. I would also expect to put them back on again when I start eating again. It is more about giving the body a good old clear out.

I live on caffeine. I love a beer and glass of wine and lately, due to toddler illness and kitchen renovations, have frankly been eating anything I can get my hands on. I am intrigued to see if I can survive without caffeine and whether I can get through 5 days without a glass of wine!

Juice Cleanse in amongst my wine!

Will my skin be clearer? Will my hair be shinier? Will our marriage survive the five days?

Watch this space. I will report back!
