Stop Saying Sorry

Everyone, allow me to introduce you to – Stop Saying Sorry (SSS).

This little idea came about after a year or so of being a parent when I realised that I apologise a lot. A lot more than I ever used to in my pre mum days. I soon realised that  I am not alone. I observed other parents and saw that apologising to members of the general public in everyday circumstances is just part and parcel of being a parent.

I found that this is particularly relevant to new mums and parents with young babies. Babies and young children are noisy, messy and disruptive, but they need to go out right? You can’t keep them locked up until they hit 18! Even though granted, some of us might like to!

Basically, SSS is about suggesting that maybe us parents shouldn’t be so quick to apologise. Maybe one time you’ll smile, or nod, or maybe just walk away with your head held high in the face of an annoyed glare or ‘tut’ from a random because your little one just had a explosive tantrum.

The job of parent is hard enough without having to worry what other people are thinking – and this is exactly why we started ‘Stop Saying Sorry’.  As a lighthearted way for parents to stand in solidarity with each other and defend our disruptive little sweethearts! 🙂

I would love SSS to become a place where parents can share experiences or humorous tales and link up their stories via their blogs and websites.

The SSS website will explain more. Please do visit www.stopsayingsorry.co.uk – you can even grab the lovely badge to put on your blog to show your support! Think it looks pretty to.

What do you think? We would love to know. Please visit the webpage, like the facebook page or follow us on Twitter. xx

What a fantastic idea, and very timely for me. Earlier today I apologised to someone simply for walking through a door with my buggy! Why?!!
Will definitely be hopping over and will grab a badge. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s stories!

    Viva La SSS revolutions!!

Hi lovely, thanks so much for your comment. I couldn’t agree more, I am the worst for it. I start apologising as soon as I walk into the coffee shop!! xx
