The post wedding blues – back to reality

So it is over. Well I guess it has actually only just begun, but you know what I mean, the wedding stress, strain and excitement is over. I am now a happily married lady.

If anything has ever been a stress on our relationship, it was planning a wedding. I reckon that is sort of the point of it. If on the day you both turn up then is means you passed the test and managed to stay together. Being parents to a toddler, is a close second for stress levels.

Baby B was amazing throughout the whole wedding weekend. I was so worried that he would be over tired and demanding but in fact he was the opposite. He didn’t want to know me and spent the days wondering round the farm (supervised obviously), following his beloved peacocks from place to place. I can seriously recommend a farm based wedding for anyone with a lively toddler! He loved the hotel mainly because I allowed him to play with the phone and he got to sleep in the middle of the big bed. Perhaps not quite the romantic wedding weekend Daddy A had envisaged but that’s the price you pay for getting married after you’ve had children I guess! 😉

Just wanted to share a little bit about the day itself with you guys.

We succeeded in turning the barn into a beautiful wedding venue;

It's all about the Lanterns!

It’s all about the Lanterns!

Baby B entertained 100+ guests before I arrived by singing Wonderwall at the mic (he gets his confidence from his father);

B Singing

My little entertainer!

The ceremony was lighthearted and fun with a close friend singing, as Elvis, ‘The wonder of you’;

'Thank you very much'

‘Thank you very much’

The wedding breakfast (despite it being at 5pm) was delicious and the speeches were just amazing. My darling HUSBAND wrote me an amazing song for which the whole wedding party sung the last verse. (Words below);

Amazing words

A lovely wedding guest treated us to a rather spontaneous rendition of the Jungle book classic ‘I want to be like you’;

My lovely cousin sung ‘Songbird’ as our first dance;

And finally, this was all topped off with live karaoke with the amazing Rockaoke. I will spare you all the videos of that! I sounded a lot better in my head!

So, with the wedding blues I complete this blog post. We have just had to cancel our holiday/honeymoon for which we were supposed to be departing in a couple of days as work just won’t allow it. It’s a good thing though, being busy is exciting!!

Now my time will be dedicated towards Up All Hours. I have so many ideas for the website and things are progressing slowly in the right direction. I started this journey to meet loads of amazing parents and to share experiences about the rollercoaster journey that is parenthood, and that has certainly happened & I have met some amazing people. Now the next step is to build a website to do my little bit to help parents, whoever and where ever they maybe across the world (not to big a task! 🙂 ). Will keep you all updated every step of the way.

Thank you for being such a star!
